Fibrant and SPIT join forces:

By combining data-driven maintenance and repairs for Fibrant, we strengthen the learning curve of the assets and increase reliability, safety and sustainability.

Data-driven maintenance for lower costs,
higher safety and optimal energy efficiency.

The challenge
The European chemical industry faces major challenges, including high energy prices in Europe and increasing pressure on labor productivity. Because the chemical sector is highly energy-intensive, optimum energy efficiency and maximum efficiency on running equipment is crucial. In this regard, effective maintenance and professional, standardized repairs play a key role in ensuring plant reliability and preventing unforeseen breakdowns. At the same time, the sector is facing a growing shortage of skilled workers, which makes carrying out necessary maintenance increasingly challenging.

The solution
With a new multi-year agreement, Fibrant and SPIT are taking the next step in data-driven, predictive maintenance. From now on, the essential rotating assets of Fibrant's complex production facilities at the Chemelot site in Geleen will be monitored online via the Noctua ecosystem of SPIT. Thanks to live machine data, maintenance can be planned proactively and based on actual condition. SPIT is distinguished by a holistic 360° approach: not only technical data is included, but also information on spare-part availability, repair information, energy prices and market developments. This complete picture enables Fibrant to make well-considered maintenance decisions that optimize the availability, reliability, safety and energy efficiency of the installations.

"Our partnership with SPIT is an important step in future-proofing our operations. By embracing data-driven maintenance, we not only increase the reliability and safety of our facilities, but also contribute to a more sustainable and efficient use of our resources. This partnership will strengthen our position as an innovative and responsible player in the chemical industry."

The added value
This partnership enables Fibrant to more efficiently predict and schedule maintenance, minimize outages while increasing energy efficiency. On average, this approach results in 70% fewer unplanned outages, 30% longer asset life and up to 10% energy savings. The improvements not only yield significant cost savings, with an average payback period of less than a year, but also enhance safety on the shop floor. With fewer unexpected breakdowns and carefully planned maintenance, the likelihood of incidents is significantly reduced, contributing to a safer and more efficient work environment.
