Shortly after World War II, Spit and his company moved to a new
industrial area in Almelo called 'Dollegoor'. This created space for a
electrical engineering department.

Cooperation with the American company Westinghouse and the German-Swiss company Brown, Boveri & Cie to supply electric motors.

The business continued to grow steadily, and in the mid-1960s Han Ent joined Spit as a winder. He took over the company from Spit. Activities such as dynamic balancing, vibration measurement technology, industrial automation and power electronics were integrated into the company as operations.

At the end of the 1960s, the first ASEA electronics were installed. So SPIT In the early 1970s, BBC supplied machines and ASEA electronics as a composite system. Two decades later, the two companies merged to form ASEA Brown Boveri, now ABB.

Once again, the market for repairs changed rapidly in the late 1980s. AC drives became much better and more widely applicable. The first extruders got a retrofit from the usual DC systems to a relatively standard AC drive.

Starting in the early 1990s, Han Ent hired a group of young enthusiastic employees (including the two current directors) to help transform the company. From a company that acted quickly when breakdowns occurred, to experts in proactive maintenance to avoid unexpected problems. Your productivity, our priority.

Through all the developments of our own software platform, Spit attracted the attention of a number of large industrial clients including a number of paper mills in the middle of the Netherlands. In 1997, Spit concluded its first performance contract with the largest paper mill in the Netherlands, Parenco in Renkum.

In 1998, Spit took over all activities and real estate from Koning Elektrotechniek & Motoren BV of Apeldoorn. From then on, the actual work was done from here for clients in the central Netherlands. Koning also has a history dating back to 1921.

In 2003, Spit in developed its own piezo-based vibration measurement sensor. The way to still get this important information into our systems and thereby make our new service model more scalable.

Spit opens its third branch in Breda. Due to the strong growth in demand for our services from clients in the west of the Netherlands, the need arose to have a branch closer to those clients.

Spit took over the 'Large Machines' and 'Servo' activities of Dowding & Mills Breda. The employees and equipment were integrated into the Breda facility.

In 2012, we merged our Almelo and Apeldoorn workshops into a new factory in Almelo. This gave us lifting capabilities of up to 40 tons with a height of 11 meters under the hook. Quite an improvement.

Our all-encompassing digital environment is made so that external service companies could also work with our software in their own environment. The development will continue from its own company with its own employees. Spit becomes the first customer for this new software company to be christened Noctua BV.

Since Spit increasingly works internationally and SCC certificates are less well known there, in 2019 our SCC certificate was converted to an ISO 45001 certificate. Again, the first in our industry. Safety first!

In 2023, we obtained our ISO14001 certificate, because SPIT believes in leadership in sustainability. For us, it's beyond words; We really take steps for a better world.
